“How illegal is it to vandalize a wall”, proposed by Banksy on his website which acquainted viewers to his Wall project, if the wall itself has been deemed unlawful by the International Court of Justice? However, the project had the overwhelming support of the Israeli public and was deemed legal by Israel’s Supreme Court. The Israeli government built a wall surrounding the occupied Palestinian territories, that which commenced in 2000 with completion in mid 200s. It stands three times the height of the Berlin wall with a height of 708km (440m)– a distance mirroring London to Zurich.

The purpose of the wall’s (or barrier’s) separation is in the West Bank (or Green Line) is said by one (Israel) to a protection and security barrier against terrorism, while Palestinians call it a racial segregation or apartheid wall. With many attempts of suicide bombings have been proven to only reinforce the wall’s security and Israel’s stance for constructing it.

The “guerrilla artist” Banksy has aided to transform the security barrier that surrounds the town with more than a dozen satirical images painted, plastered and sprayed on to the 8m-high (26ft) concrete. The work winds a trail to the heart of the city at Manger Square, where more than a dozen pieces are housed directly across from the Church of the Nativity.

I dare beg the question, is it a crime to think with the minds of the Israelis or feel with the hearts of the the Palestinians? To decide what’s best for the world of your homeland’s inhabitants or to abide by the laws of the international spectrum?
