David Černý paints Soviet tank pink in Prague

I found this article online (posted below), and I thought this was a perfect representation of Art and Crime. This famous artist from Prague painted a Soviet tank pink in 1991. It was the centerpiece of a memorial at Prague’s Kinsky Square for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in 1945. This represented the liberation from the Nazis and was now marking the start of decades of Soviet occupation. This was his contribution to making it mark the start of freedom from Soviet occupation. He originally was arrested for painting it pink, but then was released, and now 20 years later his work is installed as an art piece in Prague and memorial. Isn't it interesting that something that was seen as a crime is now seen as one of the most monumental pieces in a city and country? http://www.ceskapozice.cz/en/news/society/david-cerny%E2%80%99s-%E2%80%98pink-tank%E2%80%99-returning-prague-center
